Actress Letoya Makhene, who played the role of a determined businesswoman, Tshidi Phakade on SABC1 soapie Generations: The Legacy, for 4 years before her exit, has decided to reprise her famous role.
Letoya took a break from the show after she cited fatigue and stated that she also wanted to pursue her music career.
Her last scene was emotionally charged, as she had to appear like she had died in order to escape Jack Mabaso.
The only people who knew she was alive were her mother Gog’Zondiwe and Sphe.
Tshidi is now back in town and has a plan for Jack Mabaso.
Gadaffi, who had already moved on with another woman after grieving the loss of Tshidi, battles with forgiving her upon her return.
In a previous interview with DRUM, Letoya confessed that playing the character of Tshidi has made her a better person.
“Having the patience to wake up and be at work at 6 am every morning brought me a sense of gratitude. The directors, cast, and crew respected me, and I respected them.”
Letoya, who is also a sangoma, said she needed time away from acting to work on her spirituality, be with her family, and focus on her music.
She recently released her single Qinisela and has found love in the arms of another woman, a move that set tongues wagging.
She’s also devoted herself to philanthropic words and started a soup kitchen through her foundation.
She feeds and hands out food parcels to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
