Eskom will be implementing electricity supply restrictions in some residential areas in Gauteng. The utility says this is to safeguard its assets. It says there is a high demand for electricity during peak hours in the morning and evening.
Restrictions will be done on a rotational basis. Eskom previously said there would be no load-shedding during the lockdown. However, the utility warns that an increase in meter tampering and illegal connections could be causing the surge in usage.
