Key Responsibilities
Assign all container handling equipment to the right Point of work at the start of the shift.
Constantly monitor the operations and proactively adjust the straddle carrier assignment when necessary. Support an accurate and efficient information flow on the terminal operations related to all dispatch activities. Activate and manage the straddle carrier work queues. Maintain proper radio communication and act as focal point with a positive and motivating attitude towards outside labour during ongoing operations.
Communicate planning discrepancies clearly and efficiently to the planning department.
Control yard space allocation on a daily base using a set of parameters/filters etc for both empty and full equipment. Create and maintain a yard setup which supports the terminals need for a high productivity per crane, minimum redundant yard moves and constantly work to reduce truck turn-around-time. Monitor and fine-tune the terminal operating system and by taking the vessel and inter-modal operations into consideration.
Prepare the work flow related to housekeeping-moves such as empty evacuation, corrections, etc.
Nominate empty equipment for shipment as instructed by the Shipping Line basis predefined parameters
