North West Cogta MEC Gordon Kegakilwe dies of coronavirus

North West Co-operative Governance MEC, Gordon Kegakilwe has died as a result of a COVID-19 related illness. The MEC was admitted to a Vryburg hospital on Sunday.

He was transferred to a medical facility in Klerksdorp on Monday but suffered a heart attack on arrival.

Cooperative Governance Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has sent condolences to the family of her North West MEC.

Dlamini-Zuma says the MEC will be remembered for his commitment to helping the poor and vulnerable.

She says communities in the North West will remember him for his tireless fight against the virus that killed him.

Premier Job Mokgoro says Kegakilwe distinguished himself as one of the finest to have come from the ranks of the ANC.

The MEC was appointed to the position after last year’s elections.

Former Muvhango actress Lerato Zah Moloi has just announced that she tested positive for COVID-19. The actress disclosed the news through a video on her Facebook page and she said she contracted the virus a few days ago.

In the video, Moloi said she has experienced all the symptoms of the virus from excruciating pains, nausea, diarrhea, and countless headaches until she confirmed her fears after testing. continue reading
