South Africa recorded 3,880 new COVID-19 cases. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is 599,940.
The Health Department reported a further 195 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 12,618.
In Gauteng, 83 patients died, 36 in KZN, 26 in the Eastern Cape, 25 in the Free State, 13 in the Western Cape, and 12 in Limpopo.
Almost 500,000 people who tested positive for the virus have already recovered.
The latest report includes the results of 24,600 tests conducted countrywide.
