SA COVID-19 Death toll now at 9 298

The Department of Health has reported 414 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

The death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic has now reached 9,298 in South Africa.

The Eastern Cape recorded 135 deaths, 122 recorded in the Free State, 62 in KwaZulu-Natal, 45 from Gauteng, 34 in the Western Cape and 16 in Mpumalanga.

The department also reported 8,559 new cases in the latest report.

The recovery rate is now at 71%.
