South African media personality, Somizi Mhlongo, has expressed his admiration for his late mother, Mary Twala, in an Instagram post today, 20 August 2020.
The post showed a screenshot of a recent article which honoured the actress at The Hong Kong Film Festival, by awarding her the prize for Best Actress for her role in This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection.
The actress, who passed away in June 2020, continues to garner accolades, leading her son to state, “She didn’t die… she multiplied… she stays winning.” Mary Twala also appeared in Beyonce’s Black Is King in early August, which received international praise, proving that her legacy continues to live on.
