A former president’s wife is filing for divorce and wants to expose her husband’s financial details as part of the proceedings. The Constitutional Court has ruled that the identities of the former president and his wife are not to be revealed.

This has been revealed by the Sunday Times, who reported that the wife seeks maintenance for herself and her kids to the value of R170 000 as well as R50 000 to cover legal fees. As part of the court proceedings, she wants him to reveal his financial affairs. She maintains that her husband has been assisted by powerful people in neighbouring countries, which she says she can prove.
The maintenance fee is said to cover her expenses which include three domestic helpers, an au pair, an assistant and a tutor. She also claims that she needs her car replaced, her luxury vehicle was repossessed by the bank last year after she failed to make the necessary payments.
