The health department has reported 86 new COVID-19 related deaths in South Africa.
This brings the total number of people who have succumbed to the coronavirus to 20, 845.
Of the 86 deaths, 58 are from the Eastern Cape, 17 from the Free State, nine from the Western Cape and two from KwaZulu Natal.
There have been 2,646 new COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours which takes the total number of confirmed cases in South Africa to 765, 409.
The recovery rate now stands at 92.5-per cent.
