On what would have been her 56th birthday, the country’s iconic figure and her timeless hits were commemorated by fans all thanks popular radio personality DJ Fresh. He took to Twitter to ask his fans which songs should he and the 947 family play from her music on his show Fresh On 947.

The DJ ran a poll of the songs and on the list was her greatest hits Vulindlela, My Black President, Weekend Special, and Too Late For Mama. It is safe to say Mzansi loves Weekend Special and Vulindlela as they received the most votes.

The musician inspired many people across the world and her music had a powerful message. In a 90’s Tv show Brenda said she was not a dreamer but she planned things.
