More than 1,200 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
The death toll continues to climb with 73 new deaths recorded, most of them in the Eastern Cape. Over 752,000 people have contracted the virus.
More than 693,000 people have since recovered from the coronavirus. The recovery rate remains high at over 92 percent.
More than five million coronavirus tests have been conducted in the country.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize urged South Africans to take precautions against a second wave.
“It is important to adhere to non-pharmaceutical interventions,” he said. We need sustained behavioural change.
