The Health Department confirmed that 528 more people have died of COVID-19 in South Africa in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 43,633.
The number of new infections has risen by 6,141. This brings the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa to 1,443,939.
The recoveries now stand at 1,284,781 which represents a recovery rate of 89-percent.
The total number of active cases has dropped below 116,000, a decrease of around 6,000.
