Just over 9,000 coronavirus cases have been recorded over the last 24 hours. This brings the total to more than 1.3 million. The death toll has increased by 839, bringing the total number of deaths to 38,288.
The high number of deaths is due to backlogged data, postmortem swabs and unconfirmed outcomes at facilities.
Recoveries now stand at over 1,144,857 with over 46,000 tests conducted since the last report.
