The Department of Health confirmed that South Africa recorded 18,503 new COVID-19 cases, taking the cumulative number of infections to 1,296,806.
Another 712 people have died taking the death toll in SA to 35,852.
The health department also reported COVID-19 recoveries in SA at 1,049,740.
