The health department said 566 more people have died of COVID-19 in South Africa, bringing the total number to almost 39,000. The number of confirmed cases is also up by 12,700, taking the total to over 1.3-million.
The country has recorded more than 1.1-million recoveries at a recovery rate of 84.7 percent.
