Motorists urged to obey rules as traffic picks up

Motorists are urged to be extra cautious as they drive home from holidays.

Authorities are urging motorists to abide by the rules of the road, as well as Level 3 lockdown regulations.

Traffic is already picking up on major roads.

The N3 Toll Concession says it expects high traffic volumes throughout the day.

It recorded an average of 1,700 vehicles per hour travelling through its toll plazas on Saturday.

The agency says police are monitoring the highway to ensure compliance.

A high number of vehicles is also expected on the N1 from Limpopo, the N4 Mpumalanga, and the N2 from North West.
