South Africa has recorded it’s worst day for COVID-19 infections yet. In the last twenty-four hours, 21,980 new infections have been added.
It’s the third day in a row that more than 20,000 cases have been confirmed. This takes the total number of cases to over 1,1 million.
Six-hundred and sixteen new deaths have been reported, taking the death toll to 32,425. Over 900,000 people have already recovered from the virus.
More than 7 million tests have been conducted, over 76,000 of those since the last report.
