Kaizer Chiefs have identified a potential first signing of Swallows Star Njabulo Ngcobo under the Gavin Hunt era, though confirmation will only be in July.
The Siya crew can reveal that Amakhosi are in talks with Swallows for their star defender Njabulo Ngcobo and are prepared to offer money and players to ensure the deal goes over the line when their FIFA ban is lifted.
Swallows themselves have recently approached Chiefs for the services of midfielder Given Thibedi, who is on loan at the Dube Birds until the end of the season and has impressed the club so much that they want him to stay permanently.
As a result, the two clubs can meet each other halfway with Ngcobo going to Naturena, while Thibedi remains at Swallows, though sources have indicated that Amakhosi could offer cash and a player to close the deal.
Chiefs were inactive in the previous two transfer windows during the 2020/21 season because of their FIFA ban but will be able to register new players from July 1.
They have a solid relationship with Swallows and the evidence is in their agreement to allow Sifiso Hlanti and Kgaogelo Sekgota to join the Dube Birds as they could not have them on their roster for the current season.
It’s then likely that Chiefs will leverage this link to guarantee Ngcobo, also a target for Mamelodi Sundowns is on their books in five months’ time.
