New COVID-19 infections have been hovering around the 1,500 mark for the past three days. On Friday, 1,462 new cases were identified. Over 300 more deaths were recorded, taking the death toll to over 52,000. But, some of those deaths occurred as far back as December.
The recovery rate stands at 95 percent, with the country dealing with just over 22,000 active cases.
In terms of the vaccine rollout, just over 182,000 healthcare workers have been vaccinated. Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
