Man seriously injured in transformer explosion

Gauteng: Shortly before 15H00 Monday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to an electrocution on the corners of Struben and Circle street in Johannesburg.

Reports indicate that an adult male sustained serious burns when a transformer he was working on exploded.

It was not established on scene if the man was an official from the electricity department.

The patient was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner and once stabilised was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
