President Cyril Ramaphosa has increased the number of people allowed at religious gatherings over the Easter period, 250 people indoors and 500 outdoors.
In recent weeks, we have held a consultation with faith communities to find mutually beneficial solutions to the challenges of managing large crowds at religious services,” said the president.
“Where the venue is too small to accommodate these numbers with appropriate social distancing, then no more than 50 percent of the capacity of the venue may be used.

Ramaphosa says congregants should not gather outside their usual places of worship, and people must go home and not sleepover after services. ACDP leader Kenneth Meshoe says he is happy with an increase in the size of gatherings.
