The Health Department confirmed 1,227 new COVID-19 infections in South Africa.
SA’s death toll has increased by 81 to a total of 50,647.
Meanwhile, the number of vaccinations has dropped dramatically.
A total of 1,400 health workers have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
Until now, daily vaccinations averaged at around 6,000.
The total number of vaccinations is 101,573.
Deputy Health Minister, Joe Phaahla, said the country is likely to miss its inoculation target at the end of this month due to a shortage of shots.
