The health department said 1,285 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours.
There are now 21,589 active cases, up by around 400 cases, since Thursday.
Nearly half of these cases are in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Sadly, 30 more people have succumbed to the COVID-19 virus in the country.
This brings the total death toll in the country to 53,256.
