Mangaung’s city manager has been suspended after violent protests.
Tankiso Mea’s suspension paves the way for an investigation into alleged tender irregularities.
The community went on the rampage, calling for urgent service delivery improvement.
Meanwhile, 35 community members arrested during the Mangaung shutdown have been granted bail of R500 each.
They face charges of public violence, robbery, and arson.
The case has been postponed to 21 July, pending further investigation.
