Nandi Nyembe (born 19 August 1950 in Kliptown) is a veteran South African actress. She is popular for appearing in sports dramas like Soul City and Zone 14. She has also landed acting roles in other television serials and feature films.

She appeared in the 1987 film Saturday Night at the Palace as Miriam. In 1994, she was cast as Rachel Ndlovu in A Reasonable Man (1999). 

She also appeared as Sangoma in the 2004 film titled Yesterday. Similarly, she practices sangoma in real life and had her initiation as a teenager.

Career

She is popular for playing the role of Nandi Sibiya in Zone 14 (season 1-4). The actress also played the role of Lily in the SABC1 teen drama Yizo Yizo for 3 years (2001-2004).

She also played the leading character in Izoso Connexion, an SABC1 sitcom (2006-2007).

Nyembe has also appeared in feature films like Reasonable Man (1999), Yesterday (2004), Saturday Night at the Palace (1987).

She was cast as Thembe Makhubu in the drama series Jacob’s Cross in 2007.

She made a guest appearance in episodes of many primetime series like Hillside, Soul Buddyz, 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, and Erfsondes.
