President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation tonight at 8pm. He’s expected to provide an update on lockdown regulations.
The tourism sector has been calling for the easing of restrictions while the alcohol sector wants the booze ban lifted.
Two weeks ago, the president announced further lockdown measures to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
South Africa is currently on Adjusted Level 4 of the lockdown.
The National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 12,056 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
A total of 413 more people have died, taking South Africa’s death toll to 69,488.
3,600 of the new cases are in Gauteng, 2,5000 are in the Western Cape and 1,700 are in KwaZulu Natal.
Over 2.1-million people have recovered from COVID-19.
