Bathabile Dlamini has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement from the ANC, the party said it had been informed that the women’s league leader is in hospital receiving treatment.
The party wished her a speedy recovery and urged all South Africans to observe social distancing regulations and to vaccinate.
On Tuesday, it was announced the former minister will be prosecuted for perjury.
This relates to her testimony during an inquiry by the Constitutional Court in 2018 into the social grant crisis.
