Mlungisi Mathe (born 14 July 1990 in Zonkizizwe) is a South African actor. He was cast as Emkay on Skeem Saam, a soap opera broadcast on SABC1.
His character is loved despite being corrupt and a womanizer. Aside from acting, he is also a musician known by the stage name Skhandi Boy.

Mlungisi Mathe was born on 14 July 1990 in Zonkizizwe, Katlehong beside Johannesburg, South Africa. His parents raised him under the Christian doctrine with his other siblings.
This influenced his beliefs and he was active in activities in his church. He continued to take part in the activities in his church until he became a youth leader for his church.

Theater Productions
Before appearing on screen, he participated in theatres productions. In the early days of his career, Mathe landed a role in John Kani and Wiston Ntshona’s theatre piece titled The Island.
He played a huge role in the founding of the theatre group Black Brains in Action Production.
Later, he appeared among other hopefuls auditioning for a role onscreen. His impressive performance earned him a role in the soap opera Rhythm City.

His role on the South African soapie is his debut on television. He captured the hearts of television viewers with his role. Later, he landed the role of Emkay on Skeem Saam.

The popular Skeem Saam actor answered his ancestral calling and is practicing sangoma. Though, he is still going through ukuthwasa and shared in an interview that “the journey was confusing”.
“Fortunately, there are things I already knew and understood. Although it’s been hectic, lots of things were revealed to me. I found out about stuff I didn’t know about myself, stuff I didn’t understand from a young age. I now understand why some things happened,”
According to him, he became aware from a young age and it took him a while to accept his calling.
“I found out I had amadlozi before I was even 15. There were spirits that haunted me, but I didn’t know what was happening. It was sometimes dreams and visions at other times”
