An alleged instigator of the recent unrest in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal will remain in custody for now.
Themba Mnisi made an appearance in the Vereeniging magistrate’s court.
He stands accused of inciting violence.
Mnisi was arrested last week by the Hawks after an operation in the area.
He’s accused of unlawfully and intentionally inciting public violence around the Vaal area.
His lawyers say he’s in high spirits and will apply for bail application next week.
