Fikile Mbalula says govt looking at regulations to limit hiring of foreigners

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says new regulations are being looked at to limit the employment of foreign truck drivers.

Mbalula says the matter is before Parliament and should be resolved by the end of November.

Truck drivers have been blocking roads in protest against the employment of foreign nationals in the sector.

Mbabula says they’ve met with the disgruntled workers and have managed to quell the protest.

“We have equally taken note on allegations that employers take advantage of the lack of clarity in our regulations.”
