Makhadzi is in the firing line after she took to Twitter to post pictures of herself wearing a dress that resembled ANC colors. The Limpopo hitmaker innocently captioned her two pictures with the following words “Honoring the president’s invite”.
As one would expect, Makhadzi’s fans who are on Twitter were quick to react to the pictures. However, there is some indication that Makhadzi’s tweet prompted many of her followers and to some considerable extent, her fans to engage in heated debate. The debate that ensued under the Limpopo hit maker-centered around whether music entertainers should participate in politics or what.
And judging by the replies under Makhadzi’s tweet, there are those people who believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with music entertainers attending political events whereby they are invited. After all, South Africa is a free country. And as expected, there are some people who seemed to suggest that entertainers should just focus on their music craft: and abstain from participating in politics. However, there were some people who were indecisive.
You are honoring the ANC president. Hence you are wearing the ANC colors. You’ve just lost another fan.
