Eskom has announced that power cuts will continue until Tuesday night. The utility implemented blackouts from 9 pm on Saturday. The embattled power utility says this is due to a shortage of generation capacity.
It now says unit 1 at the Koeberg power station tripped on Sunday morning which means outages need to be implemented to replenish reserves.
Eskom says, over the past 24 hours teams have returned to service, a unit each at the Tutuka and Hendrina power stations while two Kusile units are also back up
Eskom will start rolling blackouts again on Monday and Tuesday. Stage 2 blackouts are expected from 9pm to 5am on both days. #eNCA‘s @GarethEdwardsSA brings you the details on #AllAngles #DStv403 pic.twitter.com/5Io8FGziU8
