South African DJ Black Coffee is mourning the death of his friend, Virgil Abloh (41).
In memory of Virgil, he took to Instagram and thanked him for the contributions he made.
He wrote: “Thank you for everything you’ve done for us and generations to come. Love you my brother till we meet again.”
Cathy Guetta wrote: “Yes Nathi it was a real pleasure for me and everyone to see you and Virgil playing, enjoying, loving music and people … Rest In Peace @virgilabloh #trueartist #genius.”
Letelo Thatho said: “My heart is torn apart, what an unexpected blow. Death can take us 10 steps backwards psychologically by taking people we still had to learn and experience so much from. Man, I’m heartbroken.”
“My condolences to you and his family, when I heard of his passing I thought of you. Keep strong bro,” wrote MJ Dagada.
Ntando Sibiya comforted him and wrote: “We tend to think that the hallmark of a good life is by the measure of its length. Some lives are wide and tall, reaching unimaginable heights. Virgil stood tall in our generation.”
Virgil was the first black artistic director at Louis Vuitton’s menswear from 2018 till his death.
He died on Sunday, 28 November after battling with cancer.
