South African musician AKA has displayed a great deal of courage as he just decided to plead with one of the world’s richest men, to consider helping his troubled country.
Kiernan Jarryd Forbes also known as AKA, headed to social media to plead with Elon Musk, asking for his intervention in solving the electricity issues in Mzansi.
The artist’s humble plea comes as the Southern African nation is frustrated and facing continuous power cuts.
Eskom announced this week that they will escalate the load shedding from stage 4 to stage 6 – thus leaving scores of citizens infuriated.
The cuts are not only devastating to the citizens but the business sector is feeling the pinch considering the fact that many South Africans are struggling to make ends meet.

“Excuse me sir…@elonmusk…I cannot for the life of me understand why the government hasn’t approached you to come to help us out with this electricity crisis but is there any chance you could perhaps do us a solid, you know, with you being born here and all,” he posted on Twitter.
“Surely it’s time to consider an alternative to Eskom in terms of providing power to our country.
“When you’re the only choice, what incentive is there to deliver? As a monopoly, there are no consequences for poor performance.”
The billionaire and owner of Tesla was born in Pretoria but left the country at the age of 17 but it remains to be seen if he will indeed heed AKA’s call.
Now based in the United States of America, Musk is known for creating Solar City, a solar energy company in 2006, which was later acquired by Tesla and became Tesla Energy.
