E-SA spotlight: Meet the cool dancing white kid called Matenase

Matenase, also known as Matenase wa di yobisi is Mzansi’s newest internet sensation.

If you are wondering who in the world we’re talking about, there was a video of a white boy in school dancing to Bacardi with his friend/classmate hyping him up. In the background, he is heard chanting, “Matenase was di yobisi.”

Since the video was posted on social media, South Africa has fallen in love with the duo.

Amid the hype, Matenase has opened a Twitter account where promoters can reach him for bookings.

His friend in the video is the one currently managing him.
Matenase has already been booked for the Bacardi Festival in Garankuwa taking place on the 30th of July 2022.

South African record label Ambitouz Entertainment has expressed interest in signing Matenase.

Tweeps are against the idea of the youngster singing to the label as they believe “they’ll exploit him.”

We are actually thinking of signing Matenas. We just hope his bars are hard as his body.
