Camavinga was born on November 10, 2002, in Miconge Angola but his family moved to France when he was only two years old and stayed in Fougeres where he grew up. He began playing his youth football for Drapeau-Fougeres in 2008 and in 2013 when he joined the Stade Rennais youth.
