Sibusiso Shabangu discovered an alternative to petrol three years ago when he cooked plastic that rendered into fuel. Given the rocketing fuel prices influenced by the war between Russia and Ukraine, many people have found themselves scrambling to save any and all pennies.
Sibusiso’s genius invention trended in 2019 when the innovative young man and his invention were thrust into the spotlight.

Many peeps on Facebook rallied behind Sibusiso’s fuel invention. Some showed concern that his idea would be stolen or that he would be bought out by company giants. Other peeps who had been following Sibusiso’s story since it broke out in 2019 wondered what became of him.
The increasing petrol prices are giving more than just petrol-powered car driver chest pains. According to reports, getting an electric car seemed like a good idea for one man until he was posted on Twitter recharging it using a petrol-powered generator.
Tweeps were tickled pink at realising the irony of the man’s situation. They applauded him for trying to avoid high petrol prices but pointed out the fact that the generator that saved the day runs using petrol. Some peeps on Twitter sympathised with the man and pointed out that even though he used a petrol-powered generator to charge his car, he was still somewhat spared from the rising petrol prices.
