Actress Enhle Mbali reveals plans to issue bursaries to GBV survivors

Television personality Enhle Mbali says her telephone is flooded with calls following her decision to help young girls with bursaries.

Through her foundation, Enhle Cares Foundation, Mbali says she launched her foundation to help women who have suffered from gender-based violence.

In an interview with Tshisa Live, the actress revealed that she has taken the initiative to bridge the gap between the haves and have-nots.

“65% of abused women go back to their abuser due to lack of financial support or and independence. The abuser knows this,” she captioned her video on Instagram.

“We at Enhle Cares Foundation are working towards bridging that gap, slowly but surely. Giving away nail bursaries for you to create a life for yourself.”

The mother of two says she has been inundated with calls from people who want to support the good cause while some are looking for help.

“A lot of the times people don’t know where to start and I think what I just created gives them a great starting point,” she tells the publication.

“The problem is we don’t talk about things, that is why depression has managed to manifest itself in such a big way.

“A lot of us do have depression because of the lifestyles we live and we don’t even know it. We work too much, we play too hard, and our bodies and minds never have time to heal. This is the reason I feel I need to help.”

Mbali also outlined her reasons behind the launch of her foundation, saying it came from a place of feeling like someone needed to initiate the dialogue among the youth because they are neglected and left to fend for themselves.

Checking out a recent post on the stunner, Entertainment SA reported that Enhle has landed a lucrative role in the upcoming drama series set to make its debut on SABC1 next month.

Titled Good Men, the actress will play the role of a legal guru and she revealed that the series is based on corruption but says it’s mainly focused on her and her partner.
