The Gauteng Film Commission announces new partners ahead of the Inaugural GFC Discover Summit

The Discover Summit 2022 is almost here and according to the organisers, it will be a revolutionary milestone for the film industry!

And to steer the anticipated summit into a revolutionary phase, the Gauteng Film Commission has announced a new panel of fresh and inspiring partners for the Inaugural GFC Discover Summit, taking place from 18-21 October 2022.  

The Film & Publications Board (FP&B), Joburg Tourism Company (JTC), Paramount, Cathseta, Buthongo Group, Lion and Rhino Safari Group, Blue Label Telecomms, Soweto TV, Trace TV, Siyaya TV (Moja Love), The Sustainable Tourism Partnership Program (STPP), The International Tourism Festival Africa (ITFFA), Kwa Zulu Natal Film Commission, and Tshimologong are but a few that have joined the list of partners who have pledged to see the Discover Summit 2022 be a resounding success. 

The GFC’s CEO, Ms Keitumetse Lebaka said, “We are proud and honoured by the enormous support shown towards us by the rest of the industry. It is a positive indicator of the commitment and dedication of both our public and private institutions towards the development of the country’s audio-visual sector.” 

 
The Discover Summit is a modern, revolutionary three-day event, set to empower local filmmakers and aiming to equip both the current and next generation with the skills necessary to thrive in an evolving industry landscape.  
 

With an array of exhibitions, panels, masterclasses and workshops, the Summit promises to be an event that grows and empowers creatives through five key “Summit Tracks”:  

  • Digital 
  • Business/Funding/Marketing  
  • African Pop-Culture and Film 
  • Tourism and Film 
  • Filmmaking
