Celebrated television actress Connie Chiume is set to bag another prestigious accolade abroad next month and has expressed excitement.
The seasoned television star headed to her social media space to share the news of her upcoming trip to the United States of America where she will be honoured with a lifetime award.
Chiume, already an award-winning thespian, is currently starring in Mzansi Magic’s Gomora and has since credited God for all the blessings.
The recognition in the US comes just after she was handed a similar award at the South African Film and Television Awards last weekend.
Formerly with Rhythm City and Black Panther among other productions under her belt, the 70-year-old legend was congratulated by Mzansi magic for being timeless.
“Legendary, timeless, and an incredible thespian can not describe Mam Connie Chiume. A well-deserved Saftas golden horn for her lifetime of service to the industry,“ said the SAFTA organisers.
Looking at her latest social media post, Chiume says she can’t wait to jet out of the country to accept her second award in just less than two months.
“Two-lifetime awards in the space of two months? God, thank you. Flying to the USA this October. I cannot wait.” she wrote.
The Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards (HAPA) are aimed at honouring exceptional African and American community leaders, prominent politicians from around the world and dignitaries.
On top of that, HAPA organisers also recognise celebrities, including stars who have made significant contributions to comedy, art, music, and film – the sixth edition of the event with be held on October 29.
