DRAKE LOSES £500,000 BET ON BARCELONA AS “DRAKE CURSE” STRIKE AGAIN

Content: Rapper Drake lost $600,000 ($833,000 Canadian dollars) in a two-fold bet today. The musician backed Arsenal to beat Leeds United, which they did, winning 1-0 at Elland Road, thanks to a goal from Bukayo Saka in the first half.

But unfortunately for the God’s Plan crooner, things failed to go to plan on the second part of his bet, for Barcelona against Real Madrid, with Ancelotti’s side winning 3-1 at the Bernabéu to go top of LaLiga.

This is the latest in a line of losses for Drake from betting on teams, and even from just appearing with a team or sports star, so much so that his backing is now considered to be a curse. He even went so far as to back the Philadelphia 76ers in their series against his team the Toronto Raptors. A trick that worked with the Raptors winning the series in the final throw of the seventh game.

The likes of Conor McGregor, Serena Williams, and Anthony Joshua have all lost in the past after being supported by Drake.

Barcelona can now add themselves to the list.

Barca lined up for El Clasico wearing a special-edition shirt bearing Drake’s iconic owl logo as part of their agreement with Spotify after he became the first artist to surpass 50 billion streams on the music streaming platform.

Real Madrid defeated 3-1 FC Barcelona with two first-half goals.

Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde scored the first two goals of the game. Then Ferran Torres cut the difference by one, but a penalty scored by Rodrigo in added time gave the victory to Real Madrid.

Barcelona may hope that Drake doesn’t back them in any way for the rest of the season…
