Manchester United have officially parted ways with striker Cristiano Ronaldo and the English Premier League club announced the news on Tuesday evening.
The Red Devils, Manchester United, released an official statement via their social media channels following Ronaldo’s recent remarks which put the club into disrepute.
In a tell-all interview with controversial British television host Piers Morgan, Ronaldo accused the club, Manchester of betraying him.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus star striker, Ronaldo, also lambasted the club manager, Erik ten Hag for showing ‘disrespect’ towards him.
On top of that, the Portugal skipper Ronaldo, also said he doesn’t ‘respect ten Hag’ while also levelling his attacks at the club’s management for not being serious in running it.
Heading to the FIFA World Cup to guide his country as they look to win their first Jules Rimet trophy in Qatar, United responded to Ronaldo’s allegations and said it will investigate the matter and take the necessary steps.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” said a United statement.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances and wishes him and his family well for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
Following that brief statement, football pundits speculated that Manchester will axe Ronaldo as it was evident that he wanted to leave the former European champions.
In the wake of the recent statement by the club to part ways with the ex-Ballon d’Or winner, social media came to a standstill with reactions coming from all over the world.

@Bharadwaj Venkatesh commented:
“To all “only Ronaldo” fans here. @ManUtd made him the payer he is today. United was great before and after him and will be great again without him. Am a United fan first, and a Ronaldo fanboy as well. But there are limits. No one is bigger than the club.”
@Irunnia posted:
“Manchester United fanbase will drop by 70%. Cristiano Ronaldo is the only reason people are still supporting them. I am finally happy he decided to upgrade.”
