Rethabile “Dinkybliss” Potsane, a social media influencer and former “Big Brother Mzansi” contestant, died in South Africa.
Potsane’s death was announced on social media on Sunday, November 13, and confirmed by her manager, Bukhosi Heshu-Ngcingolo.
The 29-year-old died on Sunday morning at Hillbrow Clinic, according to Heshu-Ngcingolo.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Rethabile Potsane, also known as Dinkybliss, has passed away in the early hours of today (Sunday) at Hillbrow Clinic,” the manager said.
Her cause of death has yet to be revealed.
During their time of mourning, the family requested privacy.
Shirley Adonisi, the director of M-Net’s local entertainment channels, confirmed Potsane’s death as well.
“Mzansi Magic is saddened to hear of the passing of one of the ‘Big Brother Mzansi’ season 3 contestants, Rethabile ‘Dinkybliss’ Potsane,” said Adonisi.
“Dinkybliss captured the hearts of many South Africans with her outgoing and vibrant personality on the show that solidified her standing as a mover and shaker.”
On her social media biography, Potsane described herself as “pretty, loud, proud, bold, and a foodie”.
Potsane was also a notable fashionista.
“She enjoys socialising and vibing. She shoots straight from the hip and says she’s constantly evolving and learning,” read her bio on the Mzansi Magic website.
“Apart from partying, she keeps fit by playing hockey.”
A fan favourite, Potsane’s eviction from the Big Brother house earlier in the year caused a stir, with fans complaining that she deserved to stay longer because she was more entertaining than other housemates.
Potsane was seen tweaking as she left after her eviction.
