Ailing musician L’vovo is making good progress in hospital

Durban music maker L’vovo’s management team has dispelled the rumours that the kwaito star has passed away and urges people to stop spreading false news.

In a statement issued by Derrango Record, L’vovo is currently well and making progress after suffering from a mild stroke.

The Bayang’sukela singer, Thokozani Ndlovu, is doing well in the hospital as his recording company indicated in a brief statement via social media.

L’vovo is recovering from a minor stroke he sustained during a performance in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal last Friday. 

The Durban-based artist was admitted to a hospital where he is receiving medical attention and is said to be responding well. 

“This notification serves to dispel the trending rumours that he has passed. This is untrue and grossly hurtful to his family. He is hospitalised and making excellent progress,” read the statement.

The record label asked the public and media to refrain from spreading “hurtful rumours” about L’vovo.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Sthabiso Dladla said L’vovo was “doing very well and they were expecting him to get the green light from the doctors to go home very soon”.

“We kindly ask that you keep him in your prayers and we’re confident he will come out of this difficult situation stronger. The family kindly asks for the public and media to respect their privacy during this difficult time.” 

The South African music industry has been holding up L’vovo with love, light, and prayers, especially after Big Nuz member Mampintsha suffered a stroke earlier this month and sadly died on December 24.

Entertainment SA also posted that the family of Mampintsha also revealed information on his memorial service, which will be held on Thursday in Durban Central, as well as his funeral, which will be held on Friday.

The details, however, have not yet been finalised and will be released in due time.

“The funeral will be on Friday, we are still sourcing the venue with the help of the government, which has come on board to assist us as we all know that this was an icon in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
