It seems Mampintsha’s funeral will be marred by controversy if the latest information is anything to go by.
Entertainment SA has discovered that dramatic scenes took the centre stage outside Icebolethu mortuary in Clermont.
According to a social media post by a Durban-based journalist, Sihle Mavuso, he wrote that Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo’s families had a messy verbal exchange.
The journo reports that the two families are already at loggerheads because Mampintsha’s mother, Zamanguni Gumede, has been denied to see her son’s body.
As the funeral is scheduled for Friday in Durban, it seems the two families are already clashing and in the video, the families are picketing outside the mortuary, as they are reportedly waiting for Babes Wodumo’s family.
“WATCH: It looks like Mampintsha’s funeral will be marred by the war of words between those from his mother’s side in KwaMashu and the family of Babes Wodumo. Apparently, this unnecessary drama unfolded outside the mortuary earlier today,” wrote Sihle Mavuso.
Music lovers and kwaito artists are bidding their final farewell to the musician and producer with a memorial service underway at the eThekwini Community Church.
The funeral service for the 40-year-old will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre on Friday.
According to family spokesperson Zandile Maphumulo, the memorial took place in two sessions.
“The programme has two sessions – the religious one and the entertainment one,” Maphumulo told SABC News.
“The first session will have prayers and the word of God, and it’s going to be religious, and the second session is what we will give to the artists – they will be doing what Mampintsha liked to do most. They will be doing whatever the artist wants to do.”
@Mo reacted to the viral video clip:
“Every family drama, be it at a funeral, wedding, graduation and any gathering of relatives is lead by Women to Women.”
@Mashudu commented:
“In African culture, the elders are the ones who will advise on how things should be done, especially for sacred things like a funeral. No such thing as a 20-something dictating the process because she is the wife.”
