US singer Kelly Rowland delighted to connect with South Africans

American musician Kelly Rowland has kept her promise of coming back to South Africa and says she couldn’t wait to connect with South Africans.

Rowland reflected on her last visit back in April and explained that she enjoyed herself, learning a few dance tricks with Bontle Modiselle.

Born Kelendria Rowland, Kelly is in South Africa for a “You Belong” campaign with Brutal Fruit.

“I feel like it is a very beautiful way to authentically connect with the people in South Africa, you know to be able to have this shared space,” she said per Drum.

“Shooting the commercial was so much fun. We talked about everything from motherhood, and relationships to our most embarrassing moments, to everything. We got a chance to bond and hang.”

The singer famous for songs such as Dilemma and Survivor remembers shedding tears during the TV commercial shooting when a young woman sang.

“I can’t think of her name right now but she was singing and she was singing in my ear, then just vibrated my vibe so heavy it was so moving, and I cried all over again just thinking about it, but it is the vibration here that I feel very much connected to and grateful for that I talk about everywhere I go,” she added.

One of the most loved musicians recognised globally, Rowland says she also faces a number of challenges in her life and revealed how she overcame them.

“At the time I am doubting myself, I think about the place that I am in and that it is not a mistake to be there. Then I figure out how to get my way through,” continued Kelly.

“It’s funny how we can talk our way out it as much as we are able to talk our way into it.”

Taking a glance at a previous post, Entertainment SA reported that Rowland, who is in South Africa for the second time this year, had nothing but positive things to say about the country.

Although her visit is for her brand alignment with Brutal Fruit Spritzer, the singer said some of her favourite things about South Africa are the people and, of course, the food.
