Author Khaya Dlanga reveals why he didn’t pen AKA’s autobiography

Well-known author and media personality Khaya Dlanga has revealed that the late rapper AKA passed away a year after asking him to write his autobiography.

Born Kiernan Forbes, AKA was shot in Durban on February 10 and Dlanga is heartbroken because he didn’t fulfill the musician’s request.

The famed YouTube podcaster headed to social media to share the news, saying Forbes asked him to pen his book.

On February 11, 2022, Khaya recalled his chance encounter with the deceased multi-award-winning rapper at the Cape Town restaurant Sauk.

The hitmaker was adamant that Khaya should write his biography titled “In (famous)” because he was the best individual to do so.

However, he explained that he didn’t have time and further clarified that he does not write about the lives of other people and is not a ghostwriter.

“He passed on the 10th of Feb 2023. On the 11th of February 2022, he asked me to write a book about his life. Almost exactly a year to the day before he passed on, he asked me to write a book about his life,” he wrote on social media.

“I have been at a real loss for words over the last week and not really knowing how to make sense of it all. Here is a guy who had asked me to write a book about his life, “because you never know what could happen.”

Meanwhile, Entertainment SA has learned that AKA’s latest album, Mass Country, which was released on Friday will be displayed in the United States.

The album will be featured on a Times Square billboard in New York and this is an effort by Spotify to commemorate the rapper’s last album.

Remaining with Dlanga, this website reported that following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent State of the Nation Address speech, several celebrities have reacted to his plans.

The likes of Khaya Dlanga took to Twitter to air their views and his Twitter post was followed by the stunning Ayanda Thabethe.

Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address did not only receive mixed reactions from opposing political parties, but reactions came from popular celebrities.

The head of state’s main points was on Eskom, jobs, and crime, yet it seems some celebs are worried if the money will be appropriately used.
