All eyes will be on the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup this Friday and cricket fans will be entertained by leading Mzansi musicians.
Entertainment SA is informed that the fans can expect a South African-inspired carnival to open the tournament.
In a press release dispatched to ESA, there will be a lively cast of female artists and award-winning DJs headline the entertainment line-up for the opening ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match between South Africa and Sri Lanka at Newlands on Friday, February 10.
Well-known rapper Rouge who composed the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, electric band GoodLuck, and popular DJs DBN Gogo and Maphorisa will set the stage in a South African-inspired carnival to open the tournament in style.

“It’s my first time performing at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and I’m honoured. Everyone should get their tickets and pull up, it’s going to be a world-class performance, see you there, Danko,” the award-winning Amapiano artist Maphoria said.
Additionally, cricket fanatics will be treated to fun giveaways, kids’ activity zones, and fan club areas, making it a memorable and inclusive experience for everyone.
The two powerhouses, South Africa and Sri Lanka are scheduled to get the 15 days of action-packed cricket underway across three venues of Newlands Cricket Ground, Boland Park, and St George’s Park.
