Trevor Noah surprised the globe by hosting music’s biggest night in a house packed of A-listers. For the second year in a row, he presented The 65th Grammy Awards, which aired live on Sunday, February 5 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
Trevor took to Instagram to reflect on what it was like to host for the second week in a row and to thank people for turning in.
“Wow! What a night! A huge thank you to everyone that attended or watched from home! My mind is still trying to process everything that happened! Congrats to all the winners and nominees!! Music’s biggest night is truly YOUR night! Thank you for sharing your gift with the world!”
Here’s what Tweeps thought of his performance as Grammys host.
When our very own African stars received prizes for their efforts, they made the entire continent proud. Apart from Tems becoming the first Nigerian female musician to win a Grammy, Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini, and Wouter Kellerman also won for the Best Global Music Performance award, for Bayethe!
“Look at God!!! From Hammarsdale to the world! I never imagined that God would take me to such heights and platforms! I want to give a special shoutout to @wouterkellerman, @tholsi_pillay, @zakesbantwini and @sibo_the_zulu @fraserselwyn for thinking of me when putting this record together, we did it!”
“Also I want to thank @gertjohancoetzee for this incredible dress! It really made waves here in LA.! Last but not least I want to thank each and everyone who has supported me and my career since day one, I love each of you and dedicate this win to you!” she closed off.
Zakes Bantwini also expressed pride, “Took me 15 years to find my path. “I stayed true to myself & my dreams, despite all the hardships that presented themselves. I have no words to express the emotions and grace that have come over me. This moment is owed to my late Mother & Father. Your efforts, sacrifices & lessons you handed down brought out the very best in me. I’m grateful…”
