VIDEOS:  Porsche Formula E driver Pascal Wehrlein invades Cape Town

With formula one and motorsport fans having had their best moments last weekend when they watched their race heroes, Entertainment SA has prepared a few videos for you.

This comes after the motorsport-loving community was spoiled in Cape Town last weekend as they got to spend time with ace racing drivers António Félix da Costa and Pascal Wehrlein.

Brought to Mzansi by global sports company Puma, the event was set to celebrate the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship which made its debut in the Mother City last weekend.

The celebrations included interviews, shirt signings, and Wehrlein being interviewed by TV presenter Julia Stuart as he drove up to the spectacular viewing point on Signal Hill in an all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

Da Costa and Wehrlein, who race for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, entertained the public and members of the media at the temporary Puma Pit Stop store in Loop Street, Cape Town.

ESA also understands that Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis said while the cash injection was welcomed by the city, there were also other benefits to hosting the race as it injected a staggering R2 billion.

“It was truly a goosebumps moment for Cape Town as we saw the Formula E hosted in our city and our continent for the very first time. Cape Town really put on a show and did not disappoint and our city was beamed to cities across the globe with incredible images of Cape Town seen for the very first time,” he said.

“So these types of global sporting events really do put our city front and centre on the global travel agenda and that is why they are so important and why we are so pleased to be attracting more and more of them to our city over time.”
